World's Largest Rubber Duck Returning to Pennsylvania

The popular art project will be in Erie this August.

The world's largest rubber duck is returning to Pennsylvania!

The massive inflatable, known as "Mama Duck," will be at the Bayfront as part of Erie's annual Tall Ships Festival, August 22-25.

The rubber duck made its U.S. debut in Pittsburgh in 2013, where it was anchored outside PNC Park on the Allegheny River. The duck was designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and has appeared around the world in cities including Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul and Los Angeles.

The duck also appeared in the Erie Tall Ships Festival in 2016.

According to Erie News Now, the duck is more than 6 stories high and weighs 11 tons, costing more than six figures to construct.
