Watch As This Cancer Survivor Gets The Birthday Surprise She Desperately Needs

When Amy reached out for help, we answered her plea. Hear her touching story of courage and hope.

We're back on the road around Pittsburgh, PA meeting some amazing people and helping them out.

We've met a lot of families and individuals who are struggling to make ends meet. You're about to meet a woman who's literally a survivor and is now fighting to make sure she stays safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is how we surprised Amy on what just happened to be her birthday:

Amy's been battling cancer, so her immune system is a wreck. She can't work. Her daughter even had to give up her job to help take care of mom full-time during her health crisis. This was all before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Amy and her daughter were all smiles when we delivered a big surprise.Sparkt/Patrick O'Connor

We're continuing to work through a list of nearly 50 families in need that we received from 412 Food Rescue's founder and CEO, Leah Lizarondo.

Please check out the amazing work Leah and her team continue to do, connecting people in need with perfectly good food that would otherwise have gone to waste.

Then ask yourself, "How can I help? How will I make a difference today?"

How can you start something good?

Food banks across the country need your help to help people who are struggling to put food on the table.

While you can drop off food directly at the food bank near you (double check to make sure they're still taking food donations), most would prefer that you make a monetary donations, since they have the ability to leverage cash into more food through their supplier networks.

To find the food bank nearest you, here are some resources:
