UPDATE: Second Eaglet Hatches at Hayes Nest

First time since 2016 multiple bald eagle eggs have hatched in Hays, PA.


The Hays, PA bald eagles have welcomed a second eaglet this year! According to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, the newest eaglet hatched at 3:50 Monday afternoon.

The first eaglet hatched on Saturday. Today's new addition to the nest is the tenth bald eagle to hatch at the Hays nest since 2013. This is the first time more than one egg has hatched in the same year since 2016. You can click here to see more photos from after the first eaglet hatched .

Eaglet is fed on Monday evening.

In 2018, the bald eagles laid three as well. Only one egg was viable and hatched. The eaglet was also hatched on March 23 and fledged on June 11.
