Update: Boy Who Helped Feed Dorian Evacuees Surprised with Disney Trip
When news of the boy's selfless act went viral, a few surprise visitors from the 'happiest place on Earth' made his dream come true.
We first introduced you to 7-year old Jermaine Bell last week when he made headlines by using the money he had been saving for a birthday trip to Disney World to instead help feed Hurricane Dorian evacuees.
Turns out, Jermaine didn't have to give up his birthday trip after all.
In a video posted Monday by Disney, Jermaine, dressed in a Lion King T-shirt, was genuinely surprised when, during an interview with Good Morning America , he was greeted by a Walt Disney World Ambassador and several cast members outside of his home. Another surprise arrived a few moments later when Mickey Mouse stepped out of hiding from behind the family's garage.
The little boy was all smiles as the Disney crew sang him Happy Birthday in his driveway. They hosted a mini-birthday party for him with balloons, a Lion King-themed birthday cake and a few gifts, including a free stay at the Walt Disney World Resort for him and his family. They plan to visit the park later this month.
Jermaine had some wise words for GMA as he donned his new Mickey Mouse ears. "Be strong, and if you do something good, good will come back to you."
This will surely be a birthday that he won't soon forget.
