Update: Becky's Walk Across America Hits Day 100!

She's now looking at mid-September for arrival in California, and a hoped-for Ellen appearance.

Our friend Rebecca McCrea hit a big milestone today and we thought you'd want to know about it.

She's on Day 100 of her walk across America!

If you haven't been following her story, in May, Becky started walking from her home in Fennelton, Pa., north of Pittsburgh, with a goal of reaching Pasadena California in late summer. Becky is raising money for Best Friends , a no-kill animal organization. Ellen DeGeneres is also a fan of Best Friends, and Becky is hoping Ellen will have her on her show when she finally reaches California. You can follow Becky's trip in our two previous stories:

Update: Woman Walking the U.S. for Charity Reaches State #7

On Day 100, Becky is walking through Bayfield, Colorado where her friend Rhonda Linamen is driving the chase van this week, with Becky's trusty sidekick Arnie in tow (pictured above). She writes on her Facebook page that she's constantly amazed at the beauty of our country.

We're also happy to report that Becky's GoFundMe page for Best Friends is going strong. She's closing in on $5,000 raised, well above the $2,473 that was her original goal, representing the number of miles she will walk on her trek.

"Glad I had the opportunity to meet someone like you!!" said Rocha Wendy who stopped to offer Becky a ride she didn't need.

We'll keep you posted as Becky gets nearer to her goal, and in the meantime, the folks here at Sparkt say: Go Becky!
