Unclaimed U.S. Army Vet To Be Laid To Rest Today in Pittsburgh

He doesn't have any surviving family members, so the community has been invited to pay their respects.

William Martin Smith, 69, of Uniontown, PA passed away on November 1, 2019 in Uniontown Hospital. He will be laid to rest today (November 8, 2019) at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.

Smith is a U.S. Army veteran who has no next of kin or family. The funeral home is inviting anyone who would like to attend to come pay their respects as he is laid to rest. Smith will be buried under the Dignified Burial and Other Veterans' Benefits Act of 2012.

Smith, born on December 5, 1949, has resided at Cherry Tree Nursing Center in Uniontown for the last four years. He will be buried today with Full Military Rites and Honors.
