Three Friends Offer Spare Ticket to Homeless Man, Take Him to Red Sox Game
After a fourth friend cancelled, the buddies saw the opportunity to take the man to his first game.
When one of their buddies dropped out of attending a Red Sox game, three young men in Boston made the most of the opportunity to pay it forward.
Rather than scalp the ticket to make a couple extra bucks, Sean Wetzonis, Pedro Lugo and Francisco Rios gave it to homeless man and took him to the game.
The friends offered the ticket to a man named John outside Fenway Park, and took him to the game and bought him a beer. The group had a great time cheering on the Red Sox
"So we had an extra ticket to the @redsox game and didn't want to waste it, so luckily we ran into our man John who unfortunately is homeless, but we got the opportunity to take him out to his first game, bless up Unc"
The tweet went viral, and the friends said they hoped that their experience would remind others that a small act of kindness can go a long way.
"He thanked us for everything and he expressed his gratitude," Lugo told CNN. "Maybe [the game] helped alleviate the stressors that come with being homeless for the few hours at the game."
Remember to tell us here at Sparkt about any acts of kindness you witness in your community!
