Good Deeds

Starting Off The Year With A Good Deed

My wife, a new good-deed-doer and I find someone to help, right outside our door.

There's nothing like starting the new year off on the right foot, so it kinda makes sense that my wife Rachel, our friend Thomas and I stumbled over a chance to do a good deed on New Year's Eve!

We were out. It was snowing. We just got home and had parked in the lot of Rachel's and my apartment building when we saw a guy in his car trying to get up the snow-covered hill and out of our complex. So we jumped into action and, as you'll see had some fun giving Thomas his first taste of doing good:

Thomas is hooked! You'll be seeing more of him in our future good deeds.

Just goes to show that if you're paying attention and willing to take a few minutes out of your day (or night), you can probably find someone who needs your help right now, right in your own neighborhood, or at work, or wherever you are.

Helping in our apartment complex - that's Thomas behind me.

As our Pittsburgh Good Deeds network joins up with Sparkt and expands to other cities and maybe even other parts of the world in the new year, I'm excited to keep sharing our good deeds stories. And I'll be encouraging you to look for your own!

How can you start something good?
