Single Mom Needs Help And Gets It Thanks To Kind Plumbers

Hey folks, you hear me talk about the greatness of others. This is one of those truly inspiring moments. It started with Nicole Russell who's a single mom at home with not one, not two, but three children. She already had her hands full before the pandemic at her home in Shaler Township, PA.

Nicole welcomes us into her home where plumbers are already doing the work.

When it hit, she was crushed financially. Nicole worked two jobs. She was a restaurant manager and she's also a nurse working with infants. But the restaurant had to close during the pandemic, and with three kids doing school from home she couldn't pick up long nursing shifts.

Stone outside Nicole's home, painted by her children.

Then she had a major plumbing emergency, with an estimate to fix it coming in at nearly $10,000. With nowhere else to turn, she reached out to Get Marty. I turned to friends who've helped us out before, Matt and Lisa Mertz at Matt Mertz Plumbing.

They sent out my man Clay Heubel who had the problem fixed in just a couple of hours. Bam!

This isn't the only act of kindness we've seen firsthand from the Mertz family. Their crews came to the rescue when a family's water line burst, creating a frozen hazard right in front of their home.

They also took action to help a 9/11 first-responder, Nick Ursta who was dying of cancer when he needed help building a dream home for his wife Margaret. (You can find links to the stories in the slideshow below.)
