She Made It! Woman Completes Her Walk Across America

Becky McCrea raised thousands for homeless pets, and got to tell her story on national TV!

It took over 5 and a half million steps and over 2600 miles, and we're happy to report that Becky McCrea has finally finished her walk across America!

We've been following her story since late spring, when Becky started walking from her home in Fennelton, PA, north of Pittsburgh, headed for Pasedena, California.

Update: Becky's Walk Across America Hits Day 100!

Becky walked to raise money for Best Friends, a no-kill animal organization with a shelter in California, where Becky found a heroes welcome when she arrived at the end of her trek.

Becky hoped when she reached California she would be invited to appear on Ellen DeGeneres' show, since she's a fan of Ellen, and Ellen is also a fan of Best Friends.

Instead, Kelly Clarkson asked Becky and dog Arnie to be on her new talk show (click here to watch the segment)

After spending a few days resting in LA, Becky headed back to Pennsylvania, this time by car. She made it a point to visit some of the people who cheered her along the way, like Peach Rocha (below) who messaged Becky to stop as she passed through Bayfield, Colorado.

"Met her on the way through walking and got to see her on the way back!" Becky posted on her Facebook page.

"I've been very blessed to have met so many new friends and have all these new memories."

We bet they feel pretty blessed to have met Becky too! Becky's walk has raised $6,655 as of this writing. You can still donate at her GoFundMe page (click here).

We're planning to hook up with Becky for an interview about her adventure now that she's home, so stay tuned!
