Shaq Surprises Family With New Computer

After they took time to be kind to him, the sports star decided to pay it forward.

A lucky shopper in McDonough, GA got to meet one of his idols last week.

Patrick Martin and his fiancé Mo were at Best Buy picking out a new computer when they ran into Shaquile O'Neal.

Martin, being the friendly guy that he is, approached the 7'1" NBA player and shared his condolences, for both the recent passing of Kobe Bryant, Shaq's former teammate, and his sister, Ayesha Harrison-Jex, who died in October following her battle with cancer.

After the exchange, Martin and Mo walked away to continue their shopping. Shaq must have been moved by Martin's comments, because moments later he came up to them and offered to foot the bill for his laptop.

"I like y'all, so get the nicest one in here and I'll pay for it," Martin recalled him saying.

So, Martin picked out a Microsoft Surface laptop and after O'Neal paid for it, they parted ways.

Martin later shared the story in a Facebook post with a few photos.

This isn't the first time that O'Neal has done a random act of kindness – the Kazaam star is actually well known for his generosity.

He recently announced that he would be donating all of the proceeds from his annual Super Bowl party in Miami to the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation and to the other families of those killed in January's helicopter crash.

How can you start something good?

Why not be like Shaq and spread kindness in your community?

You may not be able to buy a stranger's laptop, but you can show kindness in smaller ways, like clearing snow off of your neighbor's car, or paying for a cup of coffee for the person in line behind you at the coffee shop. It only takes one small ripple to create a wave.

Let's #StartSomethingGood together.
