Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) is cosponsoring legislation to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 by 2024. The "Raise the Wage" Act would also eliminate subminimum wages for young workers and workers with disabilities.
I'm proud to join my colleagues in the fight to ensure economic stability for all working Americans by raising wages and eliminating loopholes that target young workers and individuals with disabilities," Casey said.
In a release, Casey says the bill would "raise the wages of tens of millions workers, stimulate local economies and restore the value of the minimum wage."
The current federal minimum wage and minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.25. Last month, Gov. Tom Wolf proposed raising the minimum wage to $12 in Pennsylvania .
