Police Officers Fix Elderly Couples' Handicap Ramp
A post about their quiet act attracts an outpouring of praise for them and all police.
A group of police officers took the "serve" in the motto "protect and serve" a step above when they met an elderly couple who couldn't afford to fix their wheelchair ramp -- so the cops did it for them.
According to the Sunnyvale, CA Police Department Facebook page , the four officers responded to a medical call. After they treated the patient they noticed that his wheelchair ramp was in need of repairs. The couple wasn't in any physical condition to fix the ramp themselves, and they didn't have the money to pay someone else to do it.

The officers knew they couldn't just leave the ramp that way, so they left to get supplies, came back and repaired the ramp. One of the officers videotaped their work, and a post to the Facebook page has gotten more than 100 comments, praising their actions.
All of you are Angels and have a heart of Gold??! Thank you for everything you do!
The Facebook post said the officers didn't really want any special recognition, but the department thought it was important to share their story to spotlight the unseen kindness that police officers around the nation spread throughout our communities every day.
