Pennsylvania Gives Away Naloxone (Narcan) To Curb Overdose Deaths
Public health officials give out more than 12,000 free doses of Naloxone in one day event
Public health officials across Pennsylvania are calling the state's Naloxone giveaway a success, but caution the handouts are only a stopgap measure to slow deaths attributed to the opioid epidemic.
In Allegheny County, the health department had just over nine hundred doses provided by the state. They were distributed at three sites across the area. Before the day was over they handed out every single 2 dose kit.
