Penn Brewery Opening First Downtown Location
Taproom will feature rotating draft beers, food.
There's good news for happy hour enthusiasts in Pittsburgh-- Penn Brewery is expanding with its first downtown location. The Penn Taproom will open on the first floor of the First Ave. Lofts.
"The Penn Taproom will be the only spot to serve craft beer within a four-block radius, and it's the only brewery taproom in downtown Pittsburgh," Sandy Cindrich, Penn Brewery's president and CEO, told Breweries In Pennsylvania .
The Taproom will feature 12 taps of rotating craft beers, plus a menu available for dining in or take-out.
Penn Brewery says the location will seat 35, and is within easy walking distance of Blvd. of the Allies, the PNC Firstside Center, PPG Place, and the First Ave T. Station.
Penn Brewery first opened in 1986, and is the oldest and largest brewery in Pittsburgh. According to the Pittsburgh Brewers Guild , there are more than 30 craft breweries in the city.
