Church Sets Up 'Portico Pantry' For Those In Need
Congregation outside Pittsburgh creates an opportunity to give or receive in this time of uncertainty.
A church in Moon Township, west of Pittsburgh, is setting up what they're calling a "portico pantry" to help people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Riverdale Presbyterian Church on Brodhead Road is asking church members and people in the community to come and fill the shelves with non-perishables, paper and personal hygiene products as an opportunity to reach out to others.
Here's Rev. Chris Dericks to explain:
"If we can save one family a grocery bill and they don't have to spend money on those groceries, or a lot less, then they can be paying for a medical bill for a child or any other kind of bills that they need to be paying," said Rev. Dericks.
Shelves are set up for donations Rosanne Robinson
If you have anything to donate, all you have to do is stop by the church and leave your donations on the shelves. Any extra toilet paper would be especially welcome, according to Pastor Dericks.
If you are in need of supplies, stop by and help yourself, but you're asked to please take only what you need and leave some for others.
