Military Veterans Looking for a Job? Here's Your Chance!

41 companies with open positions participate in Pittsburgh-area job fair.

As the 4th of July approaches, our nation will be looking for ways salute our military men and women. What better way to make sure they're welcomed back from service than making sure they have great jobs to support their families, jobs that value their time in the militiary and the skills they learned?

DAV (Disabled American Veterans ) and RecruitMilitary are joining forces to attract, hire and retain military veterans and military spouses in the Pittsburgh area with a free hiring event for veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard members, Reserve members and military spouses.

It's set for next Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. It will be held at the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Heinz Field, 100 Art Rooney Avenue on Pittsburgh's North Shore (15212).

Exhibitors are looking for the types of skills military vets bring to the job.

Event Director Doug Turner was at a recent event in Texas and had tips on what to bring and what to do when you're attending a military job fair.

Nearly four-dozen organizations are already registered for the Pittsburgh event, including everything from insurance companies (Allstate, Farmers Insurance), manufacturers (Acutronic, Alcoa, Betchtel, Lockheed), law enforcement and military organizations, even BMW, Dollar Bank and Rivers Casino.

The event is free, but they'd like you to register (click here). That's where you'll find a full list of exhibitors, and in some cases, a list of open positions. Click here to find out about future recruiting events in other cities on the DAV Facebook page.
