Meet the Organizers Beautifying A Pittsburgh Neighborhood Porch-by-Porch
The Mt. Washington neighborhood has a rich community and, thanks to the Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation's Curb Appeal Program, is receiving a much-deserved mini makeover.
On this week's Sparkt My Interest, Kelly speaks with Greg Panza and Kevin Kerr of the Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation (MWCDC) about how they're beautifying homes in the Pittsburgh area - for free - porch by porch.

The Curb Appeal Program grew quickly with the help of local professionals like Pittsburgh contractor Kyle Dowling, Sherwin Williams, and the East Liberty Home Depot, who were all willing to donate labor and supplies.
Before
After. This front porch received power washing, fresh paint, new numbering, a mailbox, and an LED light. The door wreathe adds a homey touch.
This is a great example of how a few people worked together to make something great happen! Want to support the program but don't know how? Great news. On September 21 st you can party for yet another important cause at the Party on the Mount Block Party . It's a great way to experience Mt. Washington in all its glory while helping to fund amazing projects like this.
The MWCDC is currently updating their website, but to apply for the Curb Appeal Program call 412.481.3220 or email them at info@mwcdc.org .
