The Statewide Recreational Marijuana Legalization Listening Tour will be back in our area next week when Lt. Gov. John Fetterman will brings his tour to Westmoreland, Fayette and Somerset counties. He plans to hold at least one session in each of Pennsylvania's 67 counties.
Fetterman will be at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center on Monday, March 4th, at Penn State Fayette's Swimmer Hall in Lemont Furnace the following day and then at the North Star High School Auditorium in Boswell on Thursday, March 7th. Each of these sessions will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Even though the tour has had some detractors, Fetterman's local director told the Washington Observer-Reporter following a couple stops in Washington County that most people have spoken in support of legalization. Earlier this week, Fetterman and his wife Giselle were on hand to cut the ribbon at a medical marijuana dispensary in New Kensington.
Fetterman continues to stress this tour is not about his personal views. His goal, which he reiterates in in this tweet , is to create a civil conversation on a polarizing topic.
"We want to make sure all Pennsylvanians have a say," Lt. Gov. John Fetterman
