A man bought over $500 worth of Girl Scout cookies, and it wasn't just because he loved Tagalongs or Thin Mints. Members of a Greenville, South Carolina, Girl Scout troop were selling cookies outside a grocery store when a generous stranger approached them.
The man, who has not been identified, initially bought 7 boxes of cookies with $40 and told the girls to keep the change. Even though that was already generous, his next gesture is what makes this story so incredible.
"He came back to the table and said, 'Pack up all of your cookies. I'm taking them all so y'all can get out of this cold.' $540 he spent on cookies. What an amazing soul!!!!," Kayla Dillard, the troop's cookie sales manager, wrote on Facebook . The post has since gone viral with over 25,000 "likes" in just a few days. It's also been shared over 9,000 times.
While the scouts don't expect everyone to spend that much on cookies, every purchase goes towards helping the Girl Scouts and their programs. This year, it's even easier to find cookie booths in your area or order online . Simply click here and type in your zip-code to find a pop-up cookie booth in your area or to have cookies shipped to you. There's also a mobile cookie app available for both iOS and Android devices.
