Make a New Friend, Be a Reading Buddy
While most of the volunteer opportunities we've brought to you have been one shot deals, the Carnegie Library offers ways to give back to your community all year long.
Sparkt is spending the month of December letting you know about some of the coolest local volunteer opportunities we've found in our community, so you can give back a little of yourself this holiday season.
While most of the volunteer opportunities we've brought to you have been one shot deals, the Carnegie Library offers a great way to give back to your community all year long. Their "Reading Buddies" program allows you to experience the impact you make, first hand.
The library's Children's Department is looking for people willing to give their time and help guide children as they learn and explore. "Reading Buddies" act as caring mentors by reading with kids, helping with homework, playing games, teaching about technology, and even to just simply have supportive conversations.
Volunteer as little as 4 hours per month and make an impact on the children and youth in your community. Interested volunteers can submit an application online .
