Looking for a Miracle!
My sister and mom of three needs a kidney donor to save her life. She has been on dialysis for three years, had 1 kidney transplant reject and 1 pancreas transplant reject. We are praying for a donor.
There are 100,000 people on the kidney transplant waiting list and my sister, Geri is one of them. She is a wife and a mom of three kids and she needs a kidney to save her life. She has been on the list for three years. She goes to dialysis three days a week for four hours because she has 0 kidney function. She can't drink more than a couple sips a day because her body can't remove fluid. She is always exhausted because the toxins build up so quickly between her dialysis times, yet she works
3 days a week as a server in a restaurant because her family has financial need. Her kids are 15, 14 and 12. Most of their life has been worrying about mom - will she be there when we get home or will she be in the hospital? They have so many fears. It breaks my heart. Because of endocrine issues in the family we don't have a viable immediate blood relative to be tested. A living donor would save Geri's life and be the miracle her family has prayed for. Geri is listed at Allegheny General Hospital for her transplant. It just takes a call to their Living Donor Coordinator to get more information on beginning the testing process. Could you be the miracle we have been praying for? If you would like information on living kidney donation or being tested to become a kidney donor for Geri, please call, AHN Transplant Institute Kidney Donor Program: 412.359.4441.
