Learn More About Western PA's Bald Eagles, As We Wait for Eggs to Hatch

Audubon Society hosting music, lecture event this week.

We are expecting the eggs at the Hays bald eagle nest to hatch any day now, but in the meantime, you have a chance to learn more about the majestic birds that call Western Pennsylvania home.

The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and Wishful Wednesday Productions are hosting a lecture and musical event this Wednesday. "Western Pennsylvania Bald Eagles - The Eagles Return" will be held at the Oaks Theater in Oakmont, PA.

The event will include a "Meet & Greet" hour starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by a lecture from Chris Kubiak, the Education Director for the Audubon Society of Western PA. Kubiak will also be joined on stage by an Eastern Screech Owl!

In addition to the lecture, the event will feature music by Rusty Liberatore and John Maione, accompanying stunning photographs of the bald eagles in Hays, Harmar and North Park.

You can click here to purchase tickets. Proceeds benefit the bald eagle cameras from the Audubon Society.

The Eagles in Hays, PA laid three eggs last month, and those eggs are expected to hatch soon. You can watch the live stream of the nest here. And remember to keep checking back with for updates on the bald eagles.
