Junior Girl Scout holding Hydration Drive for firefighters

Local girl working to keep firefighters hydrated during the summer months

Sofia DeMeo, a sixth grade student at St. Sylvester School in Brentwood is working towards her Bronze Award in Girl Scouts by holding a Hydration Drive for the firefighters of Berkeley Hills Fire Department. Sofia is hoping to collect 500 cases of water and sports drinks. Her mother, Amber Matteo, says she is also collecting monetary donations that will be used to purchase cases of water. Donations can be dropped off at their house (69 Craighead Street, Pittsburgh 15211) or, Amber reports, they will come pick them up. To make a donation or to speak with Amber, please call 412-737-0910. You can also check out Sofia's Hydration Drive on Facebook
