How One Diner's Positivity Sparkt a 60-Table Pay-It-Forward Chain
It began when one table paid for five police officers.
In heart of the colorful Strip District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, stands Kelly Os Diner - a half-mirrored, half-muraled building that serves up the best fried eggs and diner coffee in town. You might know it as the family-friendly greasy-spoon featured on Diners, Drive-Ins,and Dives, but what this spot is *really* famous for (other than its haluski) is the positive atmosphere it fosters among diners. Case in point: a 60-table pay-it-forward chain that lasted for three days.

It began when one table paid for the meals of three local police officers, who in turn paid for five others... and on it went through the weekend.

"If you treat everybody as you'd want to be treated," says owner Kelly O'Connor, a Pittsburgh native and figurehead to her community, "it makes a big difference."
