The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh is capping off its "Week of Remembrance" with a special performance on Monday night.

The Center will present "The Soap Myth," a play about the "powerful confrontation between survivor memory and historical memory," which shines a critical light on the danger of Holocaust Denial . The play depicts the friendship that develops between a young Jewish journalist and a cantankerous Holocaust survivor on a crusade about the inclusion of "soap" in Holocaust Memorial Museums. "The Soap Myth" stars celebrated film and television actor Ed Asner.

The performance will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 6 at the Rodef Shalom Congregation in Oakland. You can click here to purchase tickets .

As the country pauses to honor victims of the Holocaust during this year's Days of Remembrance, faith leaders and others around the country have honored the Jewish community in Pittsburgh after the deadly Tree of Life synagogue shooting last October. The mass shooting claimed 11 lives, making it the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history.

Last Saturday, six months to the day of the Tree of Life attack, a gunman opened fire at a synagogue in Poway, CA, killing one and injuring several others, including the temple's rabbi .

This week, the Anti-Defamation League announced that violent anti-Semitic attacks in the United States more than doubled in 2018 compared to 2017 .
