Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh Honors Victims with Special Performance
"The Soap Myth" a part of Center's "Week of Remembrance."
The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh is capping off its "Week of Remembrance" with a special performance on Monday night.
The Center will present "The Soap Myth," a play about the "powerful confrontation between survivor memory and historical memory," which shines a critical light on the danger of Holocaust Denial . The play depicts the friendship that develops between a young Jewish journalist and a cantankerous Holocaust survivor on a crusade about the inclusion of "soap" in Holocaust Memorial Museums. "The Soap Myth" stars celebrated film and television actor Ed Asner.
As the country pauses to honor victims of the Holocaust during this year's Days of Remembrance, faith leaders and others around the country have honored the Jewish community in Pittsburgh after the deadly Tree of Life synagogue shooting last October. The mass shooting claimed 11 lives, making it the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history.
