Popular Hollywood Star Reads Books to Kids Online
The Frozen star is doing his part to keep children entertained and calm while they're stuck at home because school is closed.
Actor Josh Gad has been entertaining kids (and adults alike) over the years, appearing in films such as Frozen and Beauty and the Beast.
Now, he's bringing his talents to the small screen. Very small. Twitter.
Gad started live streaming himself reading children's books to families around the world while so many are under quarantine or practicing social distancing. "Since we're all stuck at home right now, I figured we would have a little fun together," said Gad in his first video, a live reading from Olivia Goes to Venice by Ian Falconer.
Other titles have included The Day the Crayons Quit, The Giving Tree, and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (performed in a scary wolf voice). "A special shout-out to all of you teachers out there who make it look so darn easy, 'cause man - it really isn't. Kids are tough!" Gad said in one of his videos to acknowledge all of the teachers who are affected by school closures.
"You have no idea how much of a difference you are making for so many," replied one Twitter user. "My four little girls were so excited for tonight's reading. Every bit of routine wraps our children with a blanket of security. Thank you for being there."
