Help Project Prom Make Sure Every Girl Goes to the Dance
Post-giveaway public sale helps fund next year's event, and you get a great deal!
Going to prom is consider a rite of passage. But with dresses and all that goes with them sometimes costing hundreds of dollars, a lot of families just can't afford it. Throughout the month of March, the National Council of Jewish Women helped hundreds of girls find the dresses of their dreams -- for free -- at the annual Project Prom Shop at Thriftique in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood.
Last year Project Prom served 242 girls from 59 area schools with the help of 221 volunteers
Now that the dress giveaway is over, the NCJW is holding their annual public sale of prom gowns, evening gowns and dresses, also at Thriftique. All dresses are priced at $25, with sale proceeds going to fund next year's Project Prom. Some of the dresses are gently worn, donated by generous individuals. Some are new, thanks to retailers who support the cause. The sale is on now through June 1.
All dresses at the public sale are priced at $25
