Give This Driver A Raise! Her Reaction To A Customer’s Hilarious Delivery Instructions Is Spot On

You'll laugh when you watch her follow, to a "T," the instructions a boy left for the delivery -- all caught on doorbell cam!

With kids stuck at home these days without much to do, some are coming up with unique ways to entertain themselves.

Lynn Deborah Staffieri, a mother in Magnolia, DE, posted a video to Facebook last week that was recorded on her family's Nest doorbell camera.

The video showed an Amazon delivery driver approaching their home with a package. The driver sets the package down by the front door, and before leaving, she knocks on the door three times and shouts, "Abracadabra!" before running back to her delivery van.

While the driver's behavior seemed odd at first, the mother found out that the driver was just following the instructions her youngest son had jokingly set as a default on her computer a few months earlier.

The boy included the following text in the field that asked if additional instructions were needed to find their address: "No, but knock on the door 3 times and scream abracadabra as loud as you can and run super fast away."

Not only was the driver's reaction hilarious, it showed that she actually read the instructions that were listed with the order.

"Thank you to this great Amazon delivery woman!" Staffieri wrote in her post. "Apparently, my youngest son had put some 'additional instructions' for delivery and she went along with it. It made us smile even though my son should not have done that so I apologize for that. I do appreciate that the driver looked closely enough at the instructions though because I know a lot of people wouldn't."

The driver even hurdled over a planter on her sprint back to her delivery van. Color us impressed! Lynn Deborah Staffieri/Facebook

Since Staffieri posted the video last week, it has been shared over 18,000 times and has earned comments from people all over the world.

"We love you AWESOME Amazon lady," one person wrote. "You are such an asset to Amazon. Thanks for having a sense of humor."

"Most of the time I can't even get ours to put the package behind our pillar by the front door lol, talk about going above and beyond. So cute," another person commented.

Even though Staffieri knows her son shouldn't have left the note, she wanted to share the video to give people a laugh during a stressful time.

"I'm sure that the jobs of essential workers have been so tough and people have been ordering a lot of stuff, so she must have been busy," Staffieri said. "But for her to have the energy and attention to detail, it just put a smile on our faces."

How can you start something good?

We love stories of delivery drivers going out of their way to help others and make people smile.

Why not show your appreciation for the delivery drivers in your community who have been working tirelessly since the coronavirus pandemic started?

You can leave a thank you note on your porch, or set up a basket with drinks and snacks for them to take as a reward for their hard work. And, if you have the chance, be sure to thank them in person. Your gesture of appreciation could make their day!
