Holiday Kindness Celebration Spreads Cheer All Over Town
Kindness "Santas" fanned out all over the city for a viral night of random acts of kindness.
We're starting to wrap up our "25 Days of Volunteering" series. If you haven't yet taken advantage of a volunteer opportunity and won't have time between now and Christmas, keep in mind, the holiday season isn't the only time you can give back.
If you're someone who likes to get to know people one-on-one, enjoys teaching, and gets pleasure out of watching someone grow in their development and celebrate achievement, a volunteer opportunity at Literacy Pittsburgh might be for you.
Literacy Pittsburgh's mission is to help people achieve their dreams through learning. They offer one-to-one tutoring and small class settings, proving a safe, supportive environment for adults to learn reading, writing and math skills, prepare for high school equivalency exams, and gain skills to transition to jobs or college. They need volunteers to get all that good work done.
If you're interested in volunteering, contact Literacy Pittsburgh Training Coordinator Roberta Hatcher at 412-393-7645 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
