Garth Brooks Announces Surprise "Dive Bar" Tour
Fans are already lobbying for the superstar to come to their favorite cities and bars.
The King of Country is treating fans to a surprise tour of bars across America.
The July 15 show in Chicago is just the start, the other six cities on the tour and the dive bars where Brooks will perform have not been released. The first show coincides with the July 15 release of his new single "Dive Bar" with country star Blake Shelton. The single will be exclusively released on Amazon Music.
Garth Brooks rocked out with a record-setting crowd at Heinz Field in May.
In the meantime, fans, radio hosts and others have already been "lobbying" Garth Brooks to stop in their city on the tour. Local fans are hoping that the country superstar returns to a Pittsburgh establishment along the way.
Brooks last performed in Pittsburgh in May but in a less intimate setting, drawing 75,000 fans to Heinz Field. It was the largest ticketed event in Pittsburgh history.
Brooks took part in 2019 spring training with the Pittsburgh Pirates, his favorite team.
Brooks does have a special affinity for the Steel City. Growing up in Oklahoma, he says he became a fan of Roberto Clemente, which has made him a lifelong Pirates fan. He even spent spring training with the Pirates in Bradenton, FL this year, as a way to raise money and awareness for his Teammates for Kids Foundation .
Check back on July 15, when he releases the rest of his "Dive Bar" tour dates. And in the meantime, let us know--what local dive bar would you like to see host Garth Brooks?
