Marty's Journey

Final Chemotherapy Treatment

On Tuesday 10/23 Marty Griffin had his last chemotherapy treatment for HPV related throat cancer.

On Tuesday October 23, 2018 Marty Griffin had his last chemotherapy treatment for HPV related throat cancer. It was a milestone in what some experts call one of the most difficult courses of cancer treatment, combining strong chemo, with radiation aimed at the throat that makes it too painful for most patients to eat or talk.

Speaking openly from his hospital bed as nurse Alex Romesberg prepared him for his treatment, Marty talked about some of the dark moments, some of the victories. And as she sat by supporting him, wife Kristine got emotional about the impact they hope their journey will make on families who have been convinced to have their children vaccinated against HPV.
