FedEx Driver Shovels Snow Off Of Customer’s Stoop
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear FedEx uniforms.
Thanks to a woman's Ring security camera, a FedEx driver's kind deed was captured when he made a delivery to a home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula last week.
The video shows the driver approaching the women's home with a large package. When he notices the stoop is covered in snow, he doesn't hesitate to pick up a shovel near the front door and start clearing a pathway.
The homeowner, Jodi LaFreniere, is a kindergarten teacher and she said she got the alert on her phone from the Ring cam when she was at work.
LaFreniere later posted the video on her Facebook page with the caption, "Shout out to this guy! He shoveled my stoop while I was gone."
After LaFreniere shared the post, the likes and comments started rolling in. She found out the driver's name and was able to reach out and thank him for his act of kindness. She even got a comment from the official FedEx social media account asking to share her story on their page.
Others chimed in with positive stories about FedEx delivery drivers, including Jenny Bravo who wrote, "The FedEx guys who make deliveries at my work are basically the best humans in existence. They are always so kind and one of them even learned my name on the FIRST day we met and calls me by name every single time. ❤"
The driver who did the kind act, Mel Marlett, said that he's surprised by his newfound fame, and that doing things like shoveling snow off a customer's front stoop is just part of his routine.
"I would hope it's something that anybody would have done," Marlett said. "If you take care of your customers, they take care of you."
Kudos to Marlett for going the extra mile and showing that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.
