Donate to Easter for Eli to make sure every sick child receives an Easter Basket
Easter for Eli is a PA-based grass roots organization whose mission to to ensure every sick child in a hospital wakes up to an Easter basket on Easter.
Easter for Eli, an amazing grass roots organization, based in Roaring Spring, Pa., was founded by Martin Garrett whose son Elias "Eli" spent two Easters at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Sadly, Eli passed away days before his fourth birthday of non-Hodgkins T-Cell Lymphoma. Easter for Eli's mission is to ensure that every child who has to spend an Easter in the hospital wakes up to an Easter basket.
Last year, Easter for Eli delivered 5,000 homemade Easter baskets to 19 children's hospitals in six states. In addition, they provided families with $4,800 in gift cards to help defray the cost of having a child in the hospital. A big network or schools, churches, small business and generous individuals made this possible.
Here in Pittsburgh, three women, Allison, Kelly and Stephanie Sobczak, have used their incredible bargain shopping skills to purchase enough toys and materials to donate approximately 450 baskets. For a $25 donation, you can help them supply, not one, but two, Easter baskets to a child spending Easter at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

The group is looking for anyone who is able to donate a small trailer that can be use to store the baskets and to deliver them to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
