This story is sure to tug at your heart. "I love you daddy" were the last words Lt. Austin Garrett heard while on the job. Those words were from Garrett's dispatcher daughter, who received his final official call before he retired.
Garrett said during the call, "Twenty five years of service, I'll be out of service the final time. Be careful. Don't forget who you are." His daughter then responded, "You've been a mentor and a great friend to many during your career. We all wish you well on your future endeavors. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. I love you daddy."
Isn't that just the sweetest thing? Video of the encounter was posted on Facebook. It's gone viral with over 26,000 views already.
Garrett is not fully retiring from law enforcement, though. According to WTVC-TV's report , he's now going to serve as a chief deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee.
