Good Deed For 92-Year-Old Retired Steelworker And His Wife
"You don't realize what a blessing it is to have people like you guys that are so willing to help."
Jim is one of the most remarkable 92-year-olds I've ever met.
When it came time for Jim and his wife to put their furniture and other belongings in storage so their daughters could remodel their home in Emsworth, outside of Pittsburgh, he didn't waste any time doing as much as he could.
A storage unit sits outside Jim's house.
Jim managed to load a lot of the couple's belongings before we got there. Jim credits his stamina to 40 years as a laborer in a steel mill. His wife says it's the 47 years of her taking good care of him.
Jim moved all this stuff himself. He's 92!
But when it came time to move heavy pieces of furniture, Jim reached out to Pittsburgh Good Deeds.
With the help of repeat Deedzer Ryan and first-time Deedzer Sarah, we were able to get the job done in record time.
Jim and his wife say they never would have been able to do this job without our help; that it was a blessing. Honestly, it makes me even happier to be a blessing to someone.
I'm just so happy we could help such a nice couple.
