Community Rallies To Support Principal's Cancer Fight - McFeeley Strong

Parents, teachers, students and others in the community are rallying behind high school principal Brian McFeeley as he battles stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Brian McFeeley has a wife and two teenage sons at home, but their family extends throughout the community in Mt. Lebanon, PA. He isn't just a father and husband, he's a high school principal beloved by his students and their families.

Mr. McFeeley is also a warrior, battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Doctors cannot operate to remove his cancer because it has spread to his liver, but his fight is far from over. It continues with chemotherapy. To say he's loved and supported would be an understatement. Parents, Teachers, Students, and others in the community have come together in a campaign they call "McFeeley Strong".

On my KDKA Radio show this morning, I talked to Brian about how he's feeling, the support, and the road ahead:

Signs of support for Mr. McFeeley have been hung across campus at Mt. Lebanon High School and across the school district.

Even more noticeable than the signs may be the green t-shirts.They're selling for $20 each and proceeds go to the McFeeley family.

Tonight at the high school football team's home opener, supporters are planning to show up creating a sea of green. Principal McFeeley responded to everyone on Twitter, where they're used to seeing his posts about happenings in the school community.
