Community Group Organizes a Hip Party to Help Those in Need
3rd annual Big Share Event is Friday in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood
Pizza! Ice cream! Beer! Do we have your attention?
Enjoy all of the above (plus more!) at the 3 rd annual The Big Share event happening this Friday at Spring Hill Brewing, located in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood.
A $25 donation gets you into the event and covers light appetizers, a 50/50, lawn games and guest speakers from the pantry. A raffle will be held with some amazing prizes including Pitt Panthers football tickets with club level seating, and a private chef's tasting and wine pairing at Bar Marco. All donations will benefit the CHS Food Pantry in South Oakland that helps feed 600+ families every month.
Local food vendors Asado by Gaucho, Rockaway Pizzeria and Millie's Homemade Ice Cream will be on hand, and Spring Hill Brewing is creating a special beer for the event. Make sure you come thirsty, there will be a prize for whoever "kicks the keg."
Portions of all food and beverage sales will go to the CHS Food Pantry, part of the event's "big share" to help others in the community. The goal is to raise $12,000, enough to purchase over 212 pounds of fresh produce, meat and dairy, and healthy canned goods to stock the pantry for a year.
Volunteers help unpack produce at the CHS Food Pantry.

According to Sarah Nesbella, CHS's Development Specialist, "the Big Share is an opportunity for all of us to come together and share the belief that access to quality food is something everyone should have."
The event will take place this Friday, September 20th from 6-9 pm at Spring Hill Brewing in Spring Garden. You can purchase $25 tickets online or pay at the door.
If you can't make it to the event, but would still like to donate to the food pantry, you can do so by visiting the organization's website. You can also consider volunteering for CHS - just visit the website for more info .
