Morning snow showers are snarling traffic, testing nerves, and generally making everything a scary mess.
Here it is late morning and the offices at Sparkt are just beginning to come alive, hours later than a usual Friday morning. Our guess: it's the same all over Pittsburgh today.
Snow started falling just as the morning commute got underway, turning area roads into sledding ramps. Sparkt staffers are reporting travel times 2 to 3 times their usual duration.
We wish our workday might have been called off with the flair of some of these school officials . Then, again, we've heard Marty Griffin sing, so maybe not.
Snow will continue to fall throughout the early afternoon, according to the Weather Channel forecast , easing up in time to get some plows on the road ahead of the evening commute.
